“It’s just amazing to have straight, smoother, and shiny hair, thanks to the magical keratin treatment at Plaza Hair Salon.”

Try out a miracle way of transforming your frizzy hair to smoother, shinier hair in just one appointment. Basically, there are two types of keratin treatment, if you want to retain your curls but remove the frizz a bit, then a smoothing treatment goes well. If you love straight hair, Brazilian blow out is the option for you.
Am I a Candidate for Keratin Treatment?
Keratin treatments go well with almost anyone, but avoid getting this treatment if you are pregnant or trying to conceive and if you have psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis. Usually, people with wavy or curly hair or those who are tired of managing the frizz would like to have straightened hair. You can have this treatment done even if you have got your hair colored. It is recommended to have this treatment done just two or three times a year for a perfect looking straight hair.
What Does a Keratin Treatment Involve?
As the name suggests, all keratin hair treatments do involve the use of keratin, which is a protein. A traditional keratin treatment is a de-frizzing process and straightens out your hair. It involves the use of a formaldehyde-releasing solution to coat your hair for about 20 minutes following which blow-drying and flat-ironing is done. This process is going to give you perfectly straight hair eliminating the entire frizz for up to 3 months. Smoothening treatments are a little different as they involve the use of formaldehyde-free solutions that are able to be absorbed into your hair cortex rather than just coating your hair. Though the process of application is quite similar, the result you derive is different as you can expect a smoother hair for another 4-6 months.
At Plaza Hair Salon, we first wash your hair and apply keratin formula to your wet hair and allow it there for about 20-30 minutes. Then we blow-dry your hair and finally flat ironing under low to medium heat is done in case there are any coarse strands left behind. The entire treatment would take around 2 hours or more and it depends on the length as well as the thickness of your hair.
How Should You Take Care of Your Hair After Treatment?
You cannot wash your hair, tie a ponytail or even clip it back for the initial three days after the treatment. This is because the formula takes time to work. It is also important to make sure you avoid touching your hair for at least three days after getting keratin-based treatment. After the “don’t wash” period, we recommend shampooing your hair once or twice a week with sulfate-free shampoo and conditioning after rinsing out the shampoo. Avoid using salt-based hairsprays.
Keratin-Based Hair Treatments are Time Saving
What has made keratin-based treatments popular is the fact that this makes your life easier as it assures minimal maintenance of your hair. It makes your hair look less frizzy and easier to style as it reduces your blow-dry time by 40-60%. It is easier to maintain your hair even in humid or rainy weather.
